A Samsung executive, earlier this month said at CES 2019 that the first foldable smartphone will be launched in the first half of this year, its something we had heard before. Since then the Galaxy F, which is what we call it for lacking the actual commercial name will be unveiled during the Galaxy S10 event which is happening next month in San Francisco.
Now we got a new leak which suggests that the phone will be in stores in late of March or by early April. The news comes from Italian blog Tutto Android. This site also disclosed about the alleged prices of entire Galaxy S10 lineup earlier, revealing about the RAM and storage tiers of upcoming Samsung flagship device.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold, as the Italian site calls it, will be launched in Italy at the end of March or in early April at the latest, the report says. Moreover, noting that the phone will retail for around €2,000 ($2,272) in the market.
The price is nothing new as the previous rumors also suggested that the phone will be expensive than the regular smartphones, mentioning the price could go anywhere from $1,500 to $2,000. A few days ago an unnamed Samsung executive said the price of the foldable phone could cost twice as much as a premium smartphone.
The Tutto Android mentioned nothing about the pricing of this phone which suggests that Samsung and its partners are still working on the details of the phone. A few months back a report came from the UK said that local carrier EE will be the exclusive seller of this phone and customers will be able to pay through installments for it.
This Italian blog offers a much earlier launch date for the phone than what we expected, but if it’s true then other European markets will also get the phone by the early April and Samsung will launch it for other major mobile markets around the same time including China, Korea, and the US.
