A Apple iPhone X user complained Apple on twitter saying that his iPhone X exploded during upgrading iOS 12.1 update process. Rahel Mohamad (The owner of the phone) said that his ten months old iPhone X became too hot to even touch. It started to emitting smoke before exploding when it was dropped by him. Apple responded to that iPhone X explode.
The phone was at charging using the official Apple lightning cable that came with the phone, during the up-gradation of iOS 12.1 process. Moreover, he states that the explosion happened as he removed the phone from its charger.

The incident happened was coincidental though which got nothing to do with the iOS 12.1 update. The exact reason we’ll witness after an investigation on the phone. That’s users don’t need to worry about what happened to iPhone X in Canada.
By the reply of Apple support to his tweet. Seems that Apple would likely to put this iPhone X explode under investigation before making any decision the incident.

Furthermore, this is not the first time someone reported about exploding an iPhone. As earlier this year an iPhone 6 exploded during repair process in a repair shop and now iPhone X exploded at home. This could be a manufacturing fault The batteries are being used in smartphones nowadays are made of lithium-ion which can explode occasionally. You must have remembered the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 Edge that what happened with that phone in the world a few years ago.
Although this is the first case of iPhone X explode we heard. However, this could be due to wrong charging process of using any low-quality third-party charger. Which has damaged the battery and electrodes touched caused to an incidental explode.
